Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient primary care. This role involves providing support to healthcare professionals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting with patient assessments, rooming patients, checking patients in/out, injection administration, triaging incoming calls, some front office work, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform vital signs checks and document patient information accurately.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other medical staff to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Assist in managing patient records, including scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
- Provide support in various specialties such as primary care, addiction medicine, and LGBTQ+ Medicine.
- Stay updated on best practices in physiology knowledge relevant to patient care.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required. If not currently “Certified”, will be required by 6 months.
- Previous experience in outpatient primary care and LGBTQ+ medicine a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and practices including injections.
- Familiarity with primary care medicine procedures and terminology.
- Ability to work effectively in quick paced environments.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work flexible hours and duties as needed to meet the demands of the healthcare facility.
- Required Medical Vaccines (Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Influenza, etc)
